SIDELINES : 2 Named for Slam Dunk Battle

NEW YORK —
Dominique Wilkins of the Atlanta Hawks and rookie Kenny Battle of the Phoenix Suns were entered in the NBA Slam Dunk Championship as replacements today.
They take the places of Jerome Kersey of the Portland Trail Blazers and Blue Edwards of the Utah Jazz, both of whom pulled out because of injuries.
The slam dunk contest will be held Saturday in Miami as part of the NBA All-Star Game festivities.
