Lilly Says Patent Suit Isn’t Valid: Eli Lilly & Co. said a patent infringement suit filed against the company by the University of California Regents has no merit. The Indianapolis-based pharmaceuticals company said it “carefully evaluated” the university’s patent for the biotechnology to make human insulin and “determined that it was not valid.”
