San Diego
A new attorney and a new trial date were granted Thursday to Roger Sing Ip, accused of killing a 15-year-old boy following a traffic dispute.
Ip, 33, of Spring Valley is charged with murdering Kurt Von Yokes on July 10 in Pacific Beach after teen-agers in the car in which Yokes was a passenger yelled at Ip about his driving.
San Diego Superior Court Judge William Howatt Jr. vacated the current trial date of March 5 and reset it for June 15.
Attorney Elisabeth Semel was relieved of the case and attorney John Fletcher was named to replace her.
Semel said she cannot discuss why the change in attorneys was made, but acknowledged she had preferred to stay on the case.
Ip remains in county jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
