THE SIDELINES : Clay, Ali’s Father, Dies at 77

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr., father of former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, is dead at age 77. Clay collapsed shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday as he was walking out of a department store. Officials said he was dead on arrival at Humana Hospital-Suburban, the result of a massive heart attack.
