Marina’s Off to Ontario for Round 2

Six of the eight Orange County girls’ basketball teams that began the Southern Section 5-A playoffs advanced to Saturday night’s second round. Only Marina has to travel a substantial distance; the Vikings (19-7) play at Ontario (27-0).

Ocean View (24-2), after a first-round bye, plays host to West Covina (20-4), and Capistrano Valley (17-9) won a coin flip and plays host to Santa Barbara (23-5).

Lakewood (20-4) at Fountain Valley (19-7).

5-A Division

Marina (19-7) at Ontario (27-0); West Covina (20-4) at Ocean View (24-2); Santa Barbara (23-5) at Capistrano Valley (17-9); Esperanza (21-4) at Orange (17-6); El Toro (23-5) at Cerritos (18-6).

4-AA Division

Gahr (19-7) at University (18-5); Compton (15-8) at Valencia (15-10); Walnut (22-4) at Edison (17-8); Mission Viejo (19-8) at Torrance (16-10); California (17-6) at Woodbridge (20-4).

4-A Division

Katella (10-15) at La Habra (19-3); Los Altos (19-8) at Kennedy (15-10); Cypress (16-9) at West Torrance (19-5); Pioneer (11-12) at La Quinta (23-3).

3-AA Division
