Pairings for OCC, Fullerton, Top-Seeded Golden West Set
Golden West is the top-seeded team in the women’s Southern California community college basketball playoffs, it was announced Sunday.
Orange Coast and Fullerton join Orange Empire Conference champion Golden West in the 16-team field.
Golden West (32-1) plays host to 16th-seeded Antelope Valley (16-10) in the first round at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. OCC (26-5), the sixth-seeded team, plays host to No. 11 Ventura (23-8) and No. 12 Fullerton (16-13) plays at fifth-seeded College of the Canyons (22-6).
The winners advance to the regional finals that will be played either Friday or Saturday.
The final four meet in the state tournament March 1-3 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
Pairings for the men’s tournament will be announced on Tuesday.
