Not Everyone in Altadena Is Working to Keep McDonald’s Out of the City

Share

Please advise Michael Head (Times, Letters, Feb. 11) that he and his 100 neighbors do not speak for all of Altadena in the latest fracas with McDonald’s. Although I did not petition for the fast food chain to move into Altadena (although a Taco Bell would be nice) I will not petition against it either.

In his letter he never stated a valid reason why the franchise should not be allowed to move in, except for his own personal feelings. I am sure the restaurant will pose no greater problem with traffic and safety than one of the nearby churches.

And, it appears that the McDonald’s corporations and their representatives have followed all procedures, and have not violated any regulations. I say let’s drop it. Oh yes, contrary to Mr. Head’s allegations, I do not stand to make a buck off of this situation . . . I am not affiliated in anyway with anyone connected with this “devious plot.” I just want my position heard.

I hope that Mr. Head and the group against fast food will not pursue this matter to the courts--as he stated--and waste more of my taxpaying dollars.
