Linebacker Kevin Singleton of the University of Arizona went home Thursday, 25 days after receiving a bone marrow transplant for leukemia.
Dr. Robert M. Rifkin, associate director of the Arizona Cancer Center’s bone marrow transplant program in Tucson, said that Singleton’s prognosis is excellent and did not rule out a return to football.
Singleton was accorded honorable mention on the 1988 Pacific 10 all-conference team. He was found to have leukemia last summer.
