San Diego 80, San Francisco 74--The Toreros were led by Pat Holbert, who equaled his career high with 27 points, and John Jerome, who scored 10 of his 13 points in the second half.
San Diego (16-12), which won for the 13th time in its last 18 games, will meet Pepperdine, a 94-83 winner over St. Mary’s, in the semifinals tonight at 7 p.m.
Joel DeBortoli scored 23 points and Shawn Sykes had 20 for USF (8-20), which lost eight of its last nine.
The Dons also remained winless in the conference tournament. They are 0-4 since the event started in 1987.
