4 Area Teams Play Tonight in Semifinals

Four area teams play tonight at 7:30 in the Southern regional semifinals of the state high school basketball tournament.
Poly and Lynwood will play each other for the second time in six days. The Jackrabbits edged the Knights, 60-58, for the CIF Southern Section title last Saturday night. The game will be at Long Beach City College.
In Tuesday night’s quarterfinals, Poly, trailing by 10 points with 50 seconds left in regulation, beat Loyola, 78-72, in overtime. Lynwood, with Earnest Killum scoring 45 points, defeated National City Sweetwater, 82-79, in three overtimes.
Artesia will play at home against El Camino of Oceanside. The Pioneers, with Ed O’Bannon scoring 30 points, reached the Division II semifinals by defeating Golden West of Visalia, 65-36.
Brethren, in Division V, will play El Cajon Christian at Granite Hills High in El Cajon. The Warriors defeated Community Christian, 72-56, Tuesday night in Bakersfield.
