DAYTON, Ohio — Freshman Brian Wolf scored a career-high 24 points--18 more than his average--as Loyola of Illinois upset St. Louis 67-58 today in the opening round of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference tournament.
St. Louis (17-11), seeded third in the eight-team tournament, had beaten Loyola twice in the regular season by a combined 25 points. Loyola was seeded sixth.
Keith Gailes scored 25 points to lead Loyola of Illinois (7-21) while Keir Rogers added 10.
