THE SIDELINES : Suntory Tennis Lineup Set
Ivan Lendl of Czechoslovakia, the world’s top-ranked player, and last year’s French Open champion, Michael Chang of Placentia, Calif., will lead a field of 56 in the $1.15-million Suntory Japan Tennis Championship April 9 through 15.
Larisa Savchenko of the Soviet Union, ranked 22nd in the world, will be among 32 women’s entrants.
Defending champion Stefan Edberg of Sweden will also compete in the Assn. of Tennis Professionals tour tournament, according to officials, along with Brad Gilbert and Aaron Krickstein, both of the United States.
First place is worth $27,000, and the runner-up will receive $13,500.
