Maybe Raiders Simply Had a Few Too Many Pressing Difficulties
Who would want to stay in L.A. with writers such as Mark Heisler? The public has no right to believe such terrible things about such a great person as Al Davis.
My late husband, Don McMahon, was a very good friend of Al and was liked by the sportswriters, being named “good guy of the year” in 1987. And he told everything exactly as he saw it. “Always tell the truth,” he preached to his six children. So I couldn’t let this morning’s Times go by unanswered.
