Thanks Given to All

On Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10), our 14-year-old son, Jason, was hit by an automobile while riding his bicycle across East Chapman Avenue in Orange.

Although Jason has no memory of the accident, we understand from witnesses that a physician stopped to administer first aid until the paramedics arrived. A number of bystanders also rushed to help with pillow and blankets, and the paramedics were quickly called by employees of the local Del Taco and DK Donut Shop.

Their quick action and concern for our son helped save his life. We are fortunate that Jason will have no lingering injuries and that so many caring people came together to help in a crisis.

Many people think that our society cares only for themselves and refuses to get involved with others. Our son is living proof that this is just not so. We are grateful that so many people were willing to take a risk and help a teen-ager they did not know. We are also appreciative of the city of Orange paramedics and medical staff of Western Medical Center-Santa Ana who were outstanding in every way. Hopefully, all of you who were involved will read this letter and know we thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts.
