BASEBALL

Thousand Oaks 3, Camarillo 1--Scott Barkman threw a three-hitter and struck out 12 to lead visiting Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League game.

Barkman (3-1), a senior left-hander, gave up four runs and six hits in a a 6-2 loss to Westlake last Friday. But his curveball returned to form Wednesday. He allowed only five balls out of the infield and did not allow an earned run, lowering his earned-run average to 0.64.

“I didn’t even have a breaking ball Friday and my fastball was up,” Barkman said. “I was trying to aim it too much, so (Wednesday) I decided just to throw it.”
