The NBA announced that it will use a new weighted system for its 1990 draft lottery, increasing the chances of teams with the worst records to get the top picks.
The selection process will involve all 11 non-playoff teams in a random drawing on May 20 in New York.
Each of the 11 teams will be assigned from 1 to 11 balls, with the team finishing the season with the worst record getting 11 and the team with the best record among the non-playoff teams getting one.
