24 Gang Members Held in Murder Plot

Two dozen gang members, including at least one 13-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of plotting the deaths of rival gang members as revenge for the shooting death of their leader, authorities said Thursday.

Police were anonymously tipped to the revenge plot Wednesday after the funeral of Gerald Blockman, a gang leader in his early 20s who was shot to death late last month, Sgt. Al Thatcher said.

Police, who received word that the group was meeting in a motel room in the 11900 block of Washington Boulevard in Culver City, arrived at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the motel and “found these guys all huddled up in a motel room making their plans.”

Thatcher said they were ordered to come out of the room unarmed and were arrested.
