THE SIDELINES : Motorcyclist Listed as Critical
Australian motorcycle racer Kevin Magee was listed in critical but stable condition today after surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain sustained in an accident at the U.S. Grand Prix, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Magee crashed his 500cc Suzuki Sunday on lap two of the 35-lap feature race at Laguna Seca Raceway. The race was restarted after Magee was airlifted to San Jose Medical Center for treatment.
Christi Welter, public relations director of the hospital, said today that Magee had undergone tests. The results were not immediately available.
