In other AA Division games:

Santana 5, San Marcos 0--Jerry Botts (3-0) allowed five hits in five innings and Lance McClure (first save) just one in two innings to combine for the shutout at San Marcos (6-8). Santana improved to 12-3.

Valhalla 14, Crawford 3--Valhalla (9-8) took an 8-0 lead in the first inning at Valhalla, and later Scott Lapinski hit a two-run homer for the Vaqueros, who will play USDHS today for a semifinal berth. Both Valhalla and USDHS are 2-0 in the tournament.

USDHS 13, El Camino 0--Jeff Desjardins--two for four with five RBIs--hit a grand slam to spark a nine-run fifth inning. David Sanchez went four for four with three RBIs for USDHS (12-3).

Escondido 3, Mar Vista 2--Pitcher Ted King (1-1) helped his own cause with a game-winning triple to right center in the bottom of the seventh inning. Brandon Sherman led off the inning with a single and scored on King’s hit. In seven innings, King allowed just two hits. Escondido (7-6) will play Mission Bay today for a semifinal berth.

Torrey Pines 3, Mission Bay 0--Shaw Henderson came within one out of a no-hitter against Mission Bay, the defending A division Lions champion. Buccaneer center fielder Marlon Gardingra looped a hit between Torrey Pines’ infielders and outfielders with two outs in the seventh to end Henderson’s no-hit bid. Marshall Bosler and Britton Scheibe each went three for four for Torrey Pines (6-8). Mission Bay fell to 6-7.

San Pasqual 7, University City 0--University City led 5-4 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, when San Pasqual Coach Bill McAllister noticed a University City player, who had advanced to first after being hit by a pitch, wearing a necklace. Because the rules forbid players to wear jewelry during a game, the player was ejected and the Centurions, having used all their substitute players, were forced to forfeit the game.

“In all my years of coaching, I’ve never seen this happen,” McAllister said. San Pasqual (4-8-1) was losing at the time, but University City’s forfeit gives the Golden Eagles a 7-0 victory.

Hilltop 15, Madison 7--Paul Stojsavljevic was two for three and drove in three runs and teammate Jorge Munoz went two for three with two RBIs for Hilltop (10-4). The Lancers can advance to the semifinals with a victory over San Pasqual today.

AAA Division

Fallbrook 9, San Diego 8--Fallbrook (7-5) survived eight errors in the first four innings, tied the game in the top of the seventh and scored the eventual winning run in the top of the ninth. The tying run crossed when Jeremy Fitzgerald singled in Steve Zavestdski.

Jose Gonzales opened the top of the ninth with a single, took second on an error and moved to third on a single from Fitzgerald. Gonzalez later scored with two outs when the Warriors worked a double steal. San Diego fell to 10-4.

Grossmont 11, San Dieguito 7--There were five home runs hit in the game, including a third-inning grand slam by Nate Fleck that put San Dieguito up, 6-1. The other home runs were by San Dieguito’s Tony Sanchez and Grossmont’s John Tatum, Jim Earley and Todd Cady, whose three-run shot in the sixth erased San Dieguito’s lead.

Cady had five RBIs and has 35 for the season. Grossmont, which can advance with a victory over San Diego today, improved to 16-1.

Vista 3, Morse 1--Vista (6-9-1) scored all its runs in the fifth. The Panthers play host Granite Hills today for the pool play title. Both are 2-0 in the tournament.

Granite Hills 4, Bonita Vista 2--Tom Fordham (2-1) struck out 11 and allowed just one hit, a two-run homer by Bonita Vista’s pitcher Mike Wazal in the sixth inning that tied the score, 2-2. Shane Spencer doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth for Granite Hills (10-4-1).

Helix 8, Patrick Henry 7--Bill Bodenstadt had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the sixth for Helix (9-5-1). The Highlanders play host Sweetwater today to decide their group.

Sweetwater 2, Mount Miguel 0--Nolan Alcantara--normally a second baseman but filling in on the mound because of injuries to Sweetwater’s top two starters--pitched 5 1/3 innings and has now gone 17 innings without allowing a run. Isaac Bruce, last year’s No. 1 starter for the Red Devils, pitched for the first time in a month and struck out three of five batters for the save. Sweetwater improved to 11-4.

Orange Glen 3, Castle Park 0--Lance Keller hit a home run for the victors and Brian Kooiman pitched all seven innings for the shutout. Orange Glen can win its group with a victory over Point Loma today.

Monte Vista 5, Point Loma 1--Neil Svalstad pitched a four-hitter and Ernie Reyes hit a two-run homer to lift Monte Vista.

A Division

Hoover 10, West Hills 3--Disi Jacobs went four for four with a triple and three RBIs for Hoover (5-10). Teammate Eric Garcia added four RBIs in two at-bats. Hoover plays Coronado today to decide their pool.

Coronado 9, Julian 1--Jason Fledderjohn had three doubles and two RBIs. James Skaalen threw a three-hitter for Coronado (9-5-1).

Clairemont 7, Francis Parker 1--Danny Langford pitched three shutout innings and went two for three to lead Clairemont (8-7, 3-2). Teammate Craig Goodwin went three for three and scored twice for Clairemont, 2-0 in the tournament.

Marian Catholic 3, La Jolla Country Day 0--Bob Applegate (1-4) got the shutout for Marian (5-8).

La Jolla 10, Lincoln 7--Gary Frank was three for five with an RBI and Eric Vann two for four with three RBIs for La Jolla (9-5). James Davis homered for Lincoln (5-9). La Jolla and Christian, both 2-0, will play for their pool today.

St. Augustine 8, El Cajon Valley 4--Jason Alcoser was three for three with a triple and two RBIs and pitched a four-hitter for the Saints (7-6). Two of El Cajon’s hits were by Isaac Walsh, including a three-run triple. The Braves are 4-8. St. Augustine is 2-0 in the tournament.

El Dorado Sundevil Spring tournament

Las Vegas Valley 5, Poway 2--In Las Vegas, Poway let a one-run game get out of control in the sixth, when Valley scored with two out, once on a double steal and again on a base hit. The Titans (7-4-1) will play Las Vegas Western today.

Rancho Buena Vista 6, Las Vegas Rancho 0--Tom McCarver pitched a two-hitter striking out seven for Rancho Buena Vista.

Las Vegas Valley 7, Rancho Buena Vista 4--Valley scored four runs in the seventh to beat the Longhorns (8-5-1).
