From Times staff and wire reports

A judge ruled that a cult leader and two followers could be extradited to Ohio, where they have been charged in the murders of five members of a family. Jeffrey Lundgren, Kathryn Johnson and Daniel Kraft had fought extradition since their arrests three months ago. The three are among 13 alleged cult members indicted in the slayings of Dennis and Cheryl Avery and their three daughters. Authorities believe the killings took place last April 17 at the group’s farm in Kirtland. Lundgren, 39, a defrocked lay minister of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is charged with 10 counts of aggravated murder and kidnaping. Kraft, 25, faces five counts of aggravated murder, while Johnson, 36, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The church is separate from the Salt Lake City-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
