San Diego State (867) won the Grand Canyon University Invitational, finishing ahead of second-place Texas Lutheran College (876) and third-place Cal State Northridge (883).

SDSU’s Kevin Riley won the individual bracket with a 208, 71 in the first round, 69 in the second and 68 in the third. Aztecs Mike Jun (221) and Tim Todd (221) were among four players tied for eighth.

USIU’s Tracy Marble shot a 75 on the second day of the Arizona State Invitational to move from 45th place to 21st. Marble, who shot 80 Monday, has a 155 total going into today’s final round. USIU’s women are 12th in the team competition, SDSU 15th.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Point Loma Nazarene swept Cal State San Bernardino, 9-0, in an NAIA District 3 match. At No. 1 singles, Kim Wright defeated Erin Kaskey, 6-3, 6-0, for PLNC (9-7). Wright then teamed with Shannon Anderson to defeat Kaskey and Chris Ballesteros, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 doubles. Cal State Bernardino is 6-11.

SOFTBALL

San Diego State was swept in a Big West doubleheader by No. 2-ranked Fresno State, 8-1 and 3-0. SDSU’s Jennifer Droback was 2 for 2 in the first game; the Aztecs (13-24, 4-11) managed just one hit in the second. Fresno State is 40-7, 19-2.
