HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Alemany’s Hart Blanks Louisville
Stacey Hart pitched a two-hitter to lift host Alemany High to a 10-0 win over Louisville on Wednesday in a San Fernando Valley League softball game called after five innings by the 10-run “mercy” rule.
Freshman Angela Hallak homered in her first varsity at-bat for Alemany (12-5, 2-2 in league play) while teammate Terri Ramirez had two hits and three runs batted in for the winners.
In other softball games:
Chaminade 3, Bell-Jeff 0--Kathy Regan pitched a two-hitter and struck out three to lead Chaminade (12-2, 3-1) to a San Fernando Valley League win at Bell-Jeff.
Pam Powers had two hits and drove in two runs for the winners.
Notre Dame 3, Bonanza 1--Becca Berline pitched a four-hitter and struck out eight for Notre Dame (7-3) in pool play of the Clark High tournament in Las Vegas. Notre Dame (7-3) scored two runs in the top of the seventh to win.
