The Orange County Sports Hall of Fame gave more than $60,000 to 11 Little League and Bobby Sox leagues in Orange County Thursday night at Anaheim Stadium.

The annual Field of Dreams grants were distributed among the oldest and largest leagues to help the groups make improvements to baseball and softball fields in parks in both Orange and Riverside counties.

“We want to take care of our youth,” said Bobby McDonald, president of the Hall of Fame.

Funds came from the Major League All-Star Game, held last July at Anaheim Stadium, and other Hall of Fame fund-raising events.

The organization also made a separate grant of $10,000 to the Anaheim Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.
