Permanent Record (HBO Sunday at 1:30 p.m., again at 11 p.m.; Wednesday at 8 a.m., again at 5 p.m.; Saturday at 7 a.m., again at 6:30 p.m.). A serious, important and well-made 1988 film starring Alan Boyce as an outstanding but hyper-stressed teen-ager and Keanu Reeves as his deeply concerned friend. With Barry Corbin and Kathy Baker as Boyce’s parents. Directed by Marisa Silver and written by Jarre Fees, Alice Liddle and Larry Ketron.

They All Laughed (Channel 11 Wednesday at 2:30 a.m.): This 1981 film is one of Peter Bogdanovich’s most assured and ingratiating pictures, an unabashed romantic comedy of grace and sophistication featuring one of the most thoroughly likable groups of people seen on the screen in the ‘80s. At once a Valentine to Manhattan and to women, its starry cast includes Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, John Ritter, Colleen Camp and the tragic and beautiful Dorothy Stratten.
