St. Bernard 3, Bosco Tech 0--Because of traffic, St. Bernard didn’t arrive at Bosco Tech in Rosemead until five minutes before game time. But the delay didn’t affect Viking right-hander Andy Diver, who pitched a one-hitter.

“Our bus was half an hour late,” Coach Bob Yarnall said. “All we could do was warm up and play.”

Diver, a junior, struck out five and walked two in improving his record to 8-1, as the Vikings stayed tied with El Segundo for first place in the Camino Real League.

St. Bernard (13-5 overall, 8-1 in league play) scored runs in the first, third and seventh innings. John Coleman was hit by a pitch to lead off the first. He stole second, took third on a balk and scored on a ground ball by Jeff Richardson.

In the third, Richardson doubled home Sean Dunbar, who had walked. The Vikings scored their final run in the seventh on an RBI single by Dunbar.
