San Onofre
A Mexican man running across Interstate 5 near the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant was struck by four vehicles and killed early Sunday, authorities said.
He was identified as Primitivo Cuevas, 33, who was seen about 12:30 a.m. running across the interstate just south of the U. S. Border Patrol checkpoint.
The San Diego County coroner’s office said Cuevas was struck by four vehicles and died at the scene of multiple injuries.
A Border Patrol spokesman said Sunday afternoon that officials had not yet determined whether Cuevas was an undocumented worker attempting to slip through the checkpoint.
