A 19-year-old man has been arrested in an attempted rape, burglary and assault in Vista, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
Gale P. Lancaster of Vista was arrested Wednesday and is being held on $15,000 bail in the County Jail in Vista on suspicion of first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with intent to rape in connection with an April 23 attack on a woman at her Vista home. She reportedly said he pulled out a knife while they were on her patio, forced her into her residence, and attempted to take her upstairs.
They struggled, and the man fled when she screamed, but not before slashing her clothes, officials said.
