Truck Crash Blocks Lanes on Bridge for 2 Hours
A big rig truck overturned east of the toll booths on the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Terminal Island Friday, blocking all westbound lanes for nearly two hours until the wreckage was removed.
The accident occurred on the Terminal Island side of the bridge, which spans the Los Angeles Harbor to San Pedro. No injuries were reported.
The truck and another vehicle collided at 2:45 p.m. on the road near Seaside Avenue, said Officer Harold Daily of the California Highway Patrol. All San Pedro-bound motorists were prevented from entering the bridge until the lanes were reopened about 4:30 p.m., Daily said.
