HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS : Palisades Rallies in the Final Game to End Granada Hills’ Bid for Title

Granada Hills erased a nine-point deficit to tie the deciding game, but Palisades came back and secured a 15-12, 8-15, 6-15, 15-3, 16-14 victory in a City Section 4-A Division volleyball playoff match Thursday at Granada Hills.
Granada Hills trailed, 13-4, in the final game before forging a 14-14 tie. Danny Asaoka had 16 kills for Granada Hills (11-4) and teammates Brian Herbst and Dane Rood each had 13.
In other matches:
Taft d. Bell, 15-5, 15-8, 15-3--Third-seeded Taft set up a 4-A semifinal matchup against second-seeded University with an easy win over Bell (12-2) at Taft.
Matt Davis and Stu Sandin each had 15 kills for Taft (13-1). Davis added seven solo blocks.
Campbell Hall d. Nordhoff, 15-10, 15-6, 15-8--Will Fruehling had 14 kills and Don White added 13 to lead Campbell Hall (14-3) in a Southern Section 2-A Division playoff match.
Setter Dave Windsor had 28 assists and 16 service points for Campbell Hall.
