Motorcyclist Dies in Early Morning Crash
A Sunland man was killed Sunday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve near the Hansen Dam Recreation Area, police said.
Christopher Goffaux, 20, was riding east on Wentworth Street near Wheatland Avenue at 1:30 a.m. when he swerved across opposing traffic lanes and hit a curb and guard rail, Los Angeles Police Officer Dennis Smith said. Goffaux was thrown from the motorcycle, Smith said.
He died at the scene.
Smith said Goffaux probably was speeding and could not negotiate a curve in the road.
