A 51-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shooting his 38-year-old wife in the face, police said.
Police, responding to a report of shots being fired, arrived about 12:40 a.m. at a residence in the 700 block of F Street, and saw Lee Thomas carrying his bleeding wife from the apartment. She suffered a gunshot wound to the face and is in fair condition at UC San Diego Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Thomas was being held at County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
