A Studio City man died early Saturday when his motorcycle hit a fire hydrant, police said.
The 26-year-old man, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was riding east on Laurel Terrace Drive near Laurel Grove Avenue about 4:30 a.m. when he lost control at a curve and hit the hydrant, Los Angeles Police Officer Dennis Smith said.
Smith said the man was speeding and apparently was not wearing a helmet. He died at the scene.
