A Lakeside man was killed Sunday at 11:30 p.m. when his 1976 Chevrolet Blazer ran off the road in what the California Highway Patrol says was a race with a pickup truck near his home in the Eucalyptus Hills area.
Benjamin G. Inciong, 24, was going south on Oak Creek Drive, south of Manzanita Road, in the northbound lane. He hit a power pole and went through a fence. The vehicle overturned and ejected Inciong, the sole occupant, before it continued on to strike a house and trees.
Inciong was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office reported multiple blunt-force injuries.
The CHP office had no further information on the pickup truck or its driver.
