Two teen-agers were arrested Saturday night after allegedly firing a gunshot at police officers during a 100-m.p.h. freeway chase, Glendale police said.

Ismael Colon, 18, of Los Angeles, and a 17-year-old youth were booked on suspicion of attempted murder, Sgt. Robert Macleod said.

The chase began about 11 p.m. after Glendale officers saw one of two people fire a gun from their car window at Brunswick Avenue and Chevy Chase Drive in the Atwater Village area, police said.

While the officers followed them on surface streets, one turned and shot at police, Macleod said. Officers returned the fire. The car carrying the gunman turned onto the Golden State Freeway and then the Ventura Freeway, traveling at 100 m.p.h.

The suspects were arrested after their car crossed the center divider and crashed at the Forest Lawn off-ramp of the Ventura Freeway. No one was injured in the chase or shootings.
