Two inmates in unrelated incidents in separate Huntington Park jails killed themselves early today, authorities said.
Jeffrey Woodward, 30, confined to the Men’s Central Jail awaiting a July sentencing on a sex crime conviction, apparently used the blade from a smuggled razor to puncture his carotid artery and bled to death, Sheriff’s Deputy John Ashley said.
In a second incident, a man being held in the Huntington Park City Jail for amassing thousands of dollars in outstanding warrants for alleged drug offenses hanged himself in his cell. Police withheld his name until his relatives were notified.
