An Orange County man died Thursday afternoon when his car struck a Caltrans maintenance truck parked on an Interstate 5 median in San Diego, officials said.
Jon Alan Shaw, 30, of Orange, died instantly in the accident near the Clairemont Drive exit about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, said Joe Wolf, a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
“The driver was just going down the shoulder and he ran into the truck,” Wolf said.
George Scangos, the driver of the truck, had minor injuries, Wolf said.
