TV, Radio Coverage of Mandela Visit
Local TV and radio stations will provide live coverage of much of Nelson Mandela’s visit to Los Angeles today.
KCBS Channel 2 and KTTV Channel 11 will begin coverage of the entertainment at City Hall at 10:30 a.m., with KNBC Channel 4 joining at 11:30 a.m. They and KCAL-TV Channel 9 will broadcast Mandela’s speech at noon.
KCBS also plans to cover Mandela’s address at the Los Angeles Coliseum, probably about 10 p.m.
Among the radio stations that will be broadcasting the visiting South African anti-apartheid leader’s actiivites will be KCRW-FM (89.9), KFWB-AM (980), KGFJ-AM (1230) and KNX-AM (1070).
