Big Spenders: Quincy Jones wasn’t the only entertainment figure to give money to the Nelson Mandela Freedom Fund during Friday’s star-studded fund-raiser in Los Angeles. Jones donated $100,000 to the fund, which will help teach future South African educators. Other contributions included $75,000 from Warner Bros.; $50,000 each from Berry Gordy Jr., Ted Fields, Herb Alpert and Lionel Richie; $25,000 each from Marvin Davis, Frank Wells and Jeffrey Katzenberg; $20,000 each from MCA and Michael Jackson; $15,000 from Creative Artists Agency; $10,000 each from International Creative Management, William Morris Agency, Triad Artists, Barry Diller, Columbia Pictures, Pathe, Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, Bernie Brillstein, Norman Lear, Jon Avnet, Steven Spielberg and Janet Jackson.
