2 Men Die From Gunshot Wounds

Two San Diego men died of gunshot wounds in separate incidents over the weekend, and police said they had no suspects in either case.

In the first incident, Ignacio Orozco, 20, who had moved recently from Washington state to the 1600 block of 40th Street, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday at Paradise Valley Hospital.

Witnesses had taken him there after he was shot in the chest and shoulder during an argument with another man about 9:40 p.m., San Diego police said. The shooting occurred near 40th and Delta streets.

In the second shooting, police said a 27-year-old San Diego man died at Mercy Hospital within an hour of being shot early Saturday as he walked near 26th Street and Broadway.

Residents said Ruben Zenteno, who lived in the 1600 block of Fern Street, was seen walking with a companion at 6 a.m. and that a few minutes later several gunshots rang out.

Police responded at 6:14 a.m. and found Zenteno shot in the chest and arm. He died at Mercy at 7:02 a.m.
