SOUTHLAND : Rolling Hills Fire Is Contained
A small brush fire in the exclusive Palos Verdes Peninsula community of Rolling Hills was contained before noon today after blackening about two to three acres of grass and chaparral. A stable was damaged by the flames, but no homes were threatened.
Los Angeles County fire officials said the blaze, which broke out shortly before 11 a.m., apparently was started by a malfunctioning electrical transformer. About 100 firefighters fought the fire in the gated community.
