Pasadena : Bridge Repair Pact Signed
A $1.1-million contract to repair the San Rafael Bridge over the Arroyo Seco was approved Tuesday by the Board of Directors.
Western Waterproofing Co. Inc. of San Francisco will remove and repair the bridge’s top rail and balusters, remove defective concrete, improve landscaping, fill in cracks and replace the existing concrete curb, gutter and sidewalks. Construction will begin in August and will be completed in January, 1991.
Although the repairs do not include needed earthquake reinforcement, the structural repairs are being done to ensure public safety and to halt further deterioration of the structure.
