SIMI VALLEY : Man, 39, Arrested Over Kidnaping
A 39-year-old Simi Valley man is being held on suspicion of kidnaping, battery, drunken driving and resisting arrest after police said they found him choking a woman in his car.
Larry Maclachlan remains in Ventura County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, said Sgt. Cole McDaniel of the Sheriff’s Department.
Police found Maclachlan in a parked car at Los Angeles Avenue and Tapo Street about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Neal Rein of the Simi Valley Police Department. Maclachlan was using his hands to choke Linda Carroll, 49, of Simi Valley, Rein said.
When officers approached the car, Maclachlan sped away and police stopped him a second time. Maclachlan reached for his waistband and was then bitten by the officers’ dog. Maclachlan was treated at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital and then taken to jail.
Carroll was treated at the hospital for head and facial injuries.
