ALTERNATE FREEWAY ROUTES
As a result of Friday’s Metro Rail tunnel fire and the subsequent roadway closures, city and state officials have suggested these alternate routes:
For the Santa Ana or Pomona freeways:
1. Use the Mission Road onramp to southbound Interstate 5 (Santa Ana Freeway).
2. Travel east on 4th Street to southbound U.S. 101 which connects immediately with southbound Interstate 5 (Santa Ana Freeway), or with eastbound state route 60 (Pomona Freeway).
3. Travel east on Seventh Street to southbound U.S. 101 spur to southbound Interstate 5 (Santa Ana Freeway) or eastbound 60 (Pomona Freeway).
4. Travel east on Fourth Street to southbound Interstate 5 (Golden State Freeway) on-ramp to southbound Santa Ana Freeway or eastbound Pomona Freeway.
For the San Bernardino Freeway:
A. Use the Mission Road on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway).
B. Travel east on Fourth Street to northbound Interstate 5 (Golden State Freeway) to eastbound Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway).
C. Travel east on First Street to northbound U.S. 101 spur to eastbound Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway).
D. Travel east on Seventh Street to northbound U.S. 101 spur to the eastbound Interstate 10.
E. Travel north on Spring Street to southbound Interstate 5 (Golden State Freeway) to eastbound Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway).
