From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A feud over a woman may have triggered a weekend shooting incident that killed two people and wounded 12, but a possible gang connection also was being checked, police said. Fourteen people standing near a taco wagon were struck by gunfire from cars early Sunday, police said. “There was some type of an altercation between some men over a young lady,” Sgt. Edward Williams said. “Some of the fellows left and returned with additional people . . . and started firing on the people in the parking lot.” A motive was still being investigated, including the possibility of a link to violent local youth gangs. “We’ve got our gang violence suppression unit trying to gather some intelligence, but we really don’t know right now,” Police Sgt. Patrick O’Hern said. Three Stockton men arrested in the shootings were identified as Enrique Quirez and Ricardo Allado Hernandez, both 23, and Phetfamone Srisouvanh, 20.
