YONKERS, N.Y. —
Kit Lobell is on a run of record runs.
The 5-year-old trotter set a world mark for mares aged 4 and up when she won a race at Scarborough Downs in Maine two weeks ago. She covered the mile in 1:57 4/5.
On Sunday night at Yonkers, she ran again and set another world record, trotting a mile in 1:57 2/5 for driver Berndt Lindstedt to win the Stars and Stripes Trot. She needed the record to catch Scenic Royal.
