Santa Monica OKs Krishna Festival Parade
The Santa Monica City Council Tuesday night authorized a parade to be held Sunday at 11 a.m.
The council approved a request from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness to run the parade for its Festival of the Chariots. The parade will begin at the beach parking lot at the western terminus of Bay Street and proceed south along the bike path onto the Venice boardwalk.
The 14th-annual parade will end at Venice Pavilion Park, where there will be entertainment, elephant rides and exhibits on topics including vegetarianism, reincarnation and animal protection.
