The Russians Are Filming, the Russians Are Filming: In a first for Soviet filmmakers, Mosfilm, the Soviet Union’s largest studio, will finish principal photography for a major production in the United States. The historical thriller “Bukharin--Enemy of the People” is the account of Stalin’s best friend, the intellectual Bukharin who was founder of Pravda. The crew will film at locations around Los Angeles and at period sets on the Warner Bros. lot and ranch. This is less expensive than going to Paris, Vienna and other actual locations, said Dann Moss, one of the American producers who will release “Bukharin” outside the Soviet Union.
