Lookout in ‘Ninja’ Murders Gets Life

Share

A man who acted as a lookout in the so-called “Ninja” murders in 1985 of an elderly couple was sentenced Friday to life in prison without possibility of parole, sparking an outburst from members of his family who verbally accosted the prosecutor outside court and had to be escorted from the building.

Anthony Majoy, 51, of Reseda was convicted in March in the first-degree murders of Gerald Woodman, 67, and Vera Woodman, 63, who were shot to death--allegedly at the behest of their two adult sons--as they returned to their Brentwood home after a Yom Kippur dinner.

After Majoy’s formal sentencing by Superior Court Judge Candace Cooper, his wife, Peggy, confronted prosecutors in the court hallway, screaming, “You guys are (expletive) liars,” as tears streamed down her face. “How do you sleep at night knowing you’ve convicted an innocent man?” one of Majoy’s daughters asked angrily.
