The release said that shortly after 2 a.m., police responded to a report of someone breaking into parked cars at the Park Apartments. While officers were on their way to the scene, the caller told police that the people involved had left the area in a red pickup. Officers later stopped a truck matching the description and found property that had been stolen from three vehicles at the apartment complex.

Police said Long also was booked on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a prohibited weapon, a .22-caliber handgun.
