Disney Gets Some Outside Work: Walt Disney Studios has entered into an exclusive agreement to distribute films produced by Cinergi Productions. Officials said that the deal marks the first time that Disney will distribute films by another production company. Films developed by Cinergi will be released under the Hollywood Pictures or Touchstone banner in all North and South America markets. The first film to be released under the agreement will be “The Stand,” starring Sean Connery. Cinergi recently paid more than $2.5 million for the film’s script by Tom Schulman (“Dead Poets Society”).
